Victoria played on the freshman team in 2013. In spite of suffering a brain hemorrhage in June, Victoria was diligent with her rehab and played on the JV team. At the end of the 2014 season, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She bravely battled cancer throughout her sophomore year and junior season on the varsity team.
Whatever Victoria did, she did full go, giving 110%. Whatever it was, she was “All In.” She loved to serve others. She brought her teammate’s ice cream sandwiches, made candy bags for the girls, and meals at the homeless shelter. Her generosity continued with her “Make A Wish” wish of rehabbing a house for transitional housing for homeless families. Her favorite two words were: Thank you.
Victoria passed away on December 19, 2015 at the age of 16. She was #VICTORIOUS.
Passionate about helping the hungry and homeless, Victoria donated her Make-A-Wish to help Welcome Home Collaborative rehab a home for two families transitioning out of homelessness. The WHC, along with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, is honoring Victoria with a huge mosaic/mural on the side of Victoria’s House of Hope. This mural is designed to inspire the West End community….to give them a hope for their future. The goal is to have the mural completed in time for Victoria’s 19th birthday on May 23
