5/29/17- 6/4/17

Eric Hooper
Senior, Baseball
Eric had West’s only extra base hit, a double, and scored the only Firebird run in the state semi-final game at Huntington Park on Friday.  He was denied  a second extra base hit and an rbi by the Massilon Jackson right fielder who made a running, diving over the shoulder catch in the seventh inning.  Hooper, played right field where he handled two chances, both for putouts.

Congratulations to all of this years Athletes of the Week for their outstanding achievements.  Twenty eight boys and 29 girls each earned one or more athlete of the week selections over the past three seasons. Look for our Kemba Credit Union Athlete of the Week feature to return when the fall season begins in early August.
5/22/17- 5/28/17

Max Kiker
Sophomore, Baseball
Max was the winning pitcher in Friday’s Southwest Ohio Regional Championship Game at the University of Cincinnati.  Kiker pitched a complete seven inning game to beat St. Xavier, 2-1.  This was his first complete seven inning game at the varsity level.  Kiker scattered six hits, walking only two while holding the Bombers to just one run when nothing less would do.

Allie Cummins
Junior, Softball
Allie put on a spectacular hitting display in the Southwest Ohio Regional Semi-Final game Wednesday.  Ohio’s number 1 ranked team, Lebanon, could not keep her off the base paths.  In four trips to the plate she was 2 for 2, including a grand slam homer, and also added two walks.  She drove in four runs while scoring three runs herself.  The homer was her 10th of the year tying the Lakota West single season record.
5/15/17- 5/21/17

Jake Kates
Senior, Baseball
Jake pitched a complete game earning a 7-3 decision over LaSalle  on Thursday to put the Firebirds in the district finals.  Then  in Saturday’s 4-3 win over Springboro for the district championship Kates scored the winning run.  The LaSalle win was Kates ninth in ten pitching outings this year.  He hit safely in both tournament games this week bringing his batting average up to .392 while pitching and playing third base.

Megan Brankamp
Senior, Softball
Megan pitched two complete game tournament wins including an 11 inning marathon spread over two days in the District Final.  In the Championship game, which concluded on Saturday, she singled in what proved to be the winning run in the top of the 11th inning and ended the game with her 9th strikeout of the contest.  This 7 to 6 win over Milford, the 3rd ranked team in Ohio D-1, was Brankamp’s 15th win of the season.

Andrew Whitaker
Senior, Track and Field
Andrew brought home the only Firebird wins at this weeks GMC championship meet He finished first in both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles.  Whitaker’s winning time over the 300 hurdles was good for both a Lakota West and a Lakota School District record.  The previous Firebird record had stood since 2007 and the Lakota District record had been set back in 1991.

Bekah Robertson
Senior, Track and Field
Bekah was the only Firebird to place in three individual events at this weeks GMC championship meet.   She earned all GMC honorable mention honors with fourth place finishes in both the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles.  Robertson added an 8th place finish in the high jump.
5/1/17- 5/7/17

David Walcott
Senior, Track and Field
David threw the discus 142′ 10″  at the Rod Russell Invitational meet on Saturday breaking a Firebird record.  The previous record had been set in 2000 and was  the oldest record in the Lakota West boys record book.  Walcott’s heave exceeded the old mark by nearly seven feet and was good for 6th place in the event which included athletes from twenty-seven different schools.

Alyssa Triner
Sophomore, Softball
Alyssa led the team at the plate by going three for four with a triple and two runs scored as West beat Oak Hills at home on Monday.  In addition she was flawless defensively successfully handling four chances at the hot corner, third base, by registering two assists and two put outs.  Triner has been among the teams batting leaders all season. Her batting average currently stands at .384 with 3 home runs.
4/24/17- 4/30/17

Jake Kates
Senior, Baseball
Jake hit safely in three consecutive Firebird wins this week and was also the winning pitcher in the game at Sycamore on Friday. Friday’s win vaulted West into the Greater Miami Conference lead. With that victory he became the first GMC hurler to earn six wins this season.  For the week  Kate’s hit 0.545 (6 of 11) and extended his consecutive hitting streak to four games.

Allie Cummins
Junior, Softball
Allie hit safely in all four Firebird games this week and has extended her current hitting streak to eight games.  Cummins started the week by going 3 for 3, with 4 RBI’s at Sycamore.  She next picked up hits in two more wins over Milford and Fairfield and ended the week with two hits at Lakota East, the last being a 3 run home run blast out of Thunderhawk Field.
4/17/17- 4/23/17

Gabriel Lamar
Senior, Volleyball
Gabriel dominated front line play to lead the Firebirds to three volleyball wins this week.  He was credited with 11 kills against Hamilton on Tuesday, a season high 16 kills in the win over Sycamore on Friday, and 10 against Walnut Hills on Saturday. All three of these tallies were game high’s with the Sycamore total being critical to a five set GMC win.

Hannah Riesenberg
Sophomore, Track
Hannah was the only Firebird female individual winner at Friday’s Springboro Invitational Track and Field meet. Riesenberg won the 800 meter run breaking the tape ahead of athletes from 12 competing schools.  In addition she ran a leg on West’s winning 4X800 meter relay team and scored points by finishing fifth in the 1600 meter run.
4/10/17- 4/16/17

Benjamin Dangel
Junior, Track and Field
Benjamin finished in a tie for second at the thirteen school, Mt. Healthy Invitational meet on Thursday.  Dangel cleared 12′ 6″ to tie the Lakota West school record which was initially set during the  2013 season.  Dangel gained notice with a 4th place finish at the 18 team LaSalle Invitational in the first meet of the year and has since improved his best clearance by one and a half feet.

Stephanie Maldonado
Junior, Softball
Stephanie was the winning pitcher in West’s 6-5 extra inning (8) victory over Hamilton on Wednesday.  Maldonado helped her own cause at the plate with a double and two runs batted in to contribute to the first pitching victory of her Lakota West varsity career.  She contributed to a win over Princeton the following day with a double and a triple leading to an rbi and a run.
4/3/17- 4/9/17

Michael Medley
Junior, Baseball
Michael played a major role on the mound, in the field, and at the plate In the Firebirds three wins this week.  On Monday he held Fairfield scoreless with 3.7 inn. of relief pitching and drove in the winning run with a triple in the bottom of the 8th inning to get the win.  He hit safely and drove in runs in all three games this week including a three for three effort at the plate in Saturday’s win over Batavia.

Megan Brankamp
Senior, Softball
Megan was the Firebird’s pitcher as they won all three games played this week.  She pitched a five inning, 1 hit, shutout against Sycamore on Monday, followed by a seven inning, win at Colerain the next day.  Brankamp ended the week with a 2-1 victory over Fairfield on Wednesday, her third win in three days.  She struck out a total of 23 batters in 18 innings of work over this period.
3/27/17- 4/2/17

Logan Currington
Senior, Track & Field
Logan led the track team in scoring and was the only Firebird with multiple first place finishes at Friday’s Lakota West-Army Reserve Invitational meet.  Competing agains athletes from four schools, including LaSalle, Centerville, and Sycamore, Currington won the 400 meter run, the high jump, and was a member of the winning 4X400 meter relay team.

Camille Johnston
Junior, Lacrosse
Camille scored 10 goals which accounted for the Lakota West’s margin of victory  in a 20-10 win over Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on Tuesday.  Johnston’s 10 goal deluge is the most by an individual Firebird this season topping her previous high’s of 5 in both the first  and second games of the season.
3/20/17- 3/26/17

Andrew Whitaker
Senior, Track & Field
Andrew was the top hurdler at the LaSalle Legends Track & Field Classic on Saturday.  Competing against athletes from 18 other schools Whitaker won the 110 meter high hurdles and was second in the 300 meter low hurdles.  He was one of only two Firebirds to bring home an individual boys event championship.

Becka Robertson
Senior, Track & Field
Becka was the Lakota West girls scoring leader at the LaSalle Legends Track & Field Classic on Saturday,  Competing against athletes from 21 other schools Becka scored a Firebird best of 14.5 points by finishing fourth in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and also adding a tie for fourth in the high jump with a 4′ 10″ clearance.
2/27/17- 3/3/17

Jensen Quinn
Senior, Wrestling
Jensen was the highest placing Firebird at this weekends Southwest Ohio District wrestling tournament.  Quinn placed 5th out of 16 wrestlers who had advanced to the district meet at 138 pounds.  He recorded three wins, with one by pin, thereby raising his career totals to 127 wins and 68 pins.  His wins tie him for 7th in Lakota West history and with 68 pins he stands alone in 3rd place.

Abby Prohaska
Junior, Basketball
Abby powered the last quarter surge that enabled Lakota West  to get by Beavercreek to win a District Championship at Princeton on Saturday.  Prohaska scored 11 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to bring the Firebirds from eight down to a three point win.  She also contributed game highs of 8 rebounds and 2 shot blocks.

Griffin Manning
Junior, Swimming
Griffin placed 13th in the 100 yard breast stroke at the State Swim meet held at Canton Natatorium on Friday and Saturday.  In Fridays preliminary round he broke his own Lakota West school record for this event which he had set the previous week at the District meet. Manning was the only Lakota West male placer in this years state meet which was the culmination of competition between Ohio’s 136 division 1 schools.

Sarah Jones
Junior, Basketball
Sarah registered game  highs of 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists in the Firebird’s district semi-final win over Kings at Sycamore on Friday.  This was her first scoring/rebounding double-double, a rare accomplishment for a guard.  Jones got off to a fast start and by the games halfway point she had outscored the entire Kings team, 19 to 17.
2/13/17- 2/19/17

Cameron Anzer
Senior, Basketball
Cameron led the Firebirds in scoring in a pair of close end of the season wins.  His career best 22 points at Fairfield on Tuesday were just enough to put West over the top in a one point, double overtime win.  Anzer then scored a game high 17 points, including the final go ahead basket, in the Lakota West Senior night win over Middletown on Friday.  In the two games combined he made an outstanding 9 of 14 shots (64%) from beyond the three point arc.

Grace Luebbe
Sophomore, Swimming
Grace was Lakota West’s leading point getter in the Southwest Ohio District meet held at Miami University this weekend.  Her silver medal time in the 500 yard free style came in competition with swimmers from 26 other schools and lowered a Lakota School District record that had stood for eight years.  In all Luebbe advances to compete in the State meet in two individual events (500 & 200 yard free style) and also as a 400 yard free style relay team member.

Frank Schmitt
Senior, Basketball
Frank led the Firebirds in scoring with 13 points at Mason on Friday, and was the games leading scorer with 17 points versus Moeller at the Mainstreet Arena on Saturday.  These 30 points came against two of the top teams in the state. For the entire week combined Schmitt scored 35 points, the largest single week output by a Firebird this year.

Angelia Jackson
Senior, Basketball
Angelia, recently returned to the court following illness and injury, was the teams leading scorer in the senior day win over Middletown at the Mainstreet Arena Saturday afternoon.  Jackson started the game and poured in 14 points in just 13 minutes leading Lakota West to the win which clinched a share of this years GMC championship title.

Dylan Horrall
Junior, Bowling
Dylan Horrall  rolled both the high single game (267) and high two game series (436) in Friday’s match with Fairfield.  Both of these scores are  season  high’s for the Firebirds.  Horrall is now in his third varsity season and is maintaining the best average on this years Lakota West team.

Jordan Lauderback
Sophomore, Gymnastics
Jordan won the balance beam event competing against gymnasts from 6 schools at this Saturday’s Springfield Catholic Central Invitational.  She also finished fourth in the All-Around scoring with a 33.34 score, the highest yet attained by a Firebird Gymnast this season.
1/23/17- 1/29/17

Harrison Painter
Junior, Bowling
Harrison rolled the Firebird’s best two game series of the season (406) and had the best single game and series scores in Monday’s match against Taylor.  His best single game score (244) on Monday also matched the team season high.  For Painter,  now in his third varsity season, these marks were also his personal bests.

Sarah Jones
Junior, Basketball
Sarah scored a team high 19 points in Saturday’s win at Mason, a win which vaulted the Firebirds into a tie for the lead in the GMC standings.  Jones, a 5′ 6″ guard, was also the Lakota West rebound leader with six boards in the Mason game.  Earlier in the week she led the team in steals (5) while adding 14 points in a win over Hamilton, and for the week she had the team’s high cumulative totals for both scoring and rebounding.

Joey Bradberry
Junior, Wrestling
Joey was the only Firebird champion at this Saturday’s JV Horning Memorial Tournament at Mason.  Competing against wrestlers from nine other schools he won all four of his bouts to finish first in the 152 pound division.  He fought back from four points down after the first period ultimately getting a reversal late in the final period for an 10-7 win.

Ally Haar
Junior, Basketball
Ally led the Firebirds in scoring as they completed a two game season sweep over Lakota East at West’s  Main Street Arena on Saturday.  Her twelve point contribution to the win was also a personal best.  Haar exhibited near flawless shooting making five of six field goal attempts, with two coming from behind the three point arc.

Jensen Quinn
Senior, Wrestling
Jensen won both of his matches with pins at the Lakota West Quad Meet on Saturday. His first pin was against Colerain at 145 pounds and the second came against Northmont at 138 pounds.  These two wins by fall bring his career pin total to 60, the fourth highest in Firebird history.

McKenzie Rice
Junior, Swimming
McKenzie won the 1650 yard free style while competing against swimmers from 50 schools at the Southwest Ohio Coaches Classic on Saturday and Sunday.  She was the only Lakota West event winner at this meet.   She also placed third in the 500 free style with a time of 5:04.13 breaking her own Lakota West school record, which was set at last years district meet.

Griffin Manning
Junior, Swimming
Griffin won the 100 yard breast stroke and was runner-up in the 200 yard individual medley at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.  Manning tied for the highest individual point total on the Lakota West boys team helping the Firebirds to a second place finish in this 14 school meet.  Manning’s time in the 200 I.M. was the fastest in the entire Lakota swim program this year.

Jasmine Ballew
Junior, Girls Basketball
Jasmine, coming off the bench in the sixth player roll, scored in double figures in both Wednesday’s GMC win at Middletown and Saturday’s GMC win over Fairfield at home.  Ballew tallied 11 points against the Middies and 13 points in the win over the Indians.  In addition she was the game high rebounder with 6 boards on Saturday and for the week was three for three from beyond the three point arc.
12/26/16- 1/1/17

Keegan Fish
Junior, Boys Basketball
Keegan scored a game high and career best 21 points to lead the Firebirds to a one point (56-55) overtime win at Winton Woods on Friday.  Fish scored 5 of Lakota West’s 9 overtime points.  His third three point field goal of the evening brought West from three points down to a 54-54 tie with under two minutes remaining in the overtime period.

Abby Prohaska
Junior, Girls Basketball
Abby powered the Firebirds to two wins over state ranked teams in the Lakota Holiday Hoops event. On Wednesday Prohaska led the team in scoring and rebounding as they handed #16 D-1 ranked Toledo Start their first defeat of the season (43-23). She then powered West to a win (42-38) over the states #1 D-2 team, Alter. Against the Knights she led the team in four stat categories (pts., rebounds, assists, and steals) highlighted by a Double-Double (12points/15 rebounds). These were Lakota West’s first ever wins over both schools.

Michael Lorenz
Freshman, Swimming
Michael was the team’s scoring co-leader in Tuesday’s dual meet tie with LaSalle.  He won both the 100 yard butterfly and the 100 yard breast stroke races in addition to being on two high placing relay teams.  His winning time in the 100 yard butterfly was a Lakota West team best for the current season.

Erica Morris
Senior, Swimming
Erica was the team scoring leader in Tuesday’s dual meet win over McAuley.  She won the 500 yard free style and placed in three other events; second in the 200 yard individual medley, and swam legs on both the winning 200 and 400 yard free style relay teams.

Frank Schmitt
Senior, Boys Basketball
Frank scored the winning points in Lakota West’s one point (44-43) win at Hamilton on Friday.  Schmitt went to the free throw line with six seconds remaining and made both ends of a one and one to give the Firebirds the final lead.  He scored 10 points total in the game and had a team leading three steals.

Tai Cumberland
Sophomore, Girls Bowling
Tai rolled the high game (213) and the high two game series (404) as Lakota West defeated Ross at Gilmore Lanes on Thursday.  Cumberland’s scores were her high school career personal best and this years team best enabling the Firebirds to win a narrow victory (1834-1829) over the Rams.  Her 404 series is the highest this season in the West bowling program, male or female.
12/5/16- 12/11/16

Malachi Hughes
Senior, Boys Basketball
Malachi was credited with 12 points to lead the Firebirds in scoring at Lakota East on Friday.  He was also the teams co-leading rebounder with 5 boards.  Hughes came off the bench and made 5 of 6 from the field while adding a pair of made free throws, to tally his team high total.

Madisyn Oxley
Junior, Girls Basketball
Madisyn scored a career personal best 19 points to share game high scoring honors in the Firebirds win at Princeton on Saturday. The hot shooting Oxley made 6 of 12 from the field including 4 of 6 from beyond the three point arc while adding 3 for 4 from the foul line.  She spent less than 17 minutes on the court to amass her 19 point total.
11/28/16- 12/4/16

Caleb Harris
Senior, Wrestling
Caleb was the only Firebird to achieve a first place finish at the 11 team Olentangy Invitational tournament this Saturday.  Harris won all four of his bouts at 195 pounds, the first three by pins and the championship match by a score of 12-9.

Heyle Krugler
Senior, Swimming
Heyle  won four races, two at Princeton at their Tri-meet on Tuesday and then two at the Turpin Tri-meet on Thursday.  She was the only Firebird girl to have two wins in either meet.  Krugler was victorious in varied events; the 100 yard free style, 100 breast stroke, 200 individual medley, and 500 free style.
10/24/16- 10/30/16

Tony White III
Senior, Football
Tony ran for both Lakota West touchdowns in Friday’s East/West rivalry game at Firebird Field. His runs covered 21 yards and 2 yards.  White, playing quarterback, was also the leading passer  in this contest completing 15 of 18 passes for 102 yards raising his career passing total to 1959 yards, 4th highest in school history.

Meredith Elstun
Senior, Cross Country
Meredith, participating in her third regional meet at Troy on Saturday had the best finish on the seven member Lakota West team (38th in a field of 132).  Elstun, has now earned four varsity letters as a harrier and has been the teams lead runner in 15 events over the course of her career.

Paul Nutley
Senior, Boys Soccer
Paul assisted on the game tying goal and then scored the go ahead goal in Thursdays District tournament  quarter final win over Edgewood.  This brings Nutley’s scoring totals up to four goals and four assists for the season.

Natalia Sompolvorchai
Sophomore, Girls Golf
Natalia earned All Ohio second team honors at the State Final Tournament played on the Ohio State University Gray Course.  When the tournament began at the sectional level on October 3 there were 755 division 1 golfers competing. Natalia’s score of 76 on Saturday left her in a tie for 10th.

Will Nguyen
Senior, Soccer & Football
Will played a key roll in three varsity wins last week, two in soccer and one in football.  In Friday’s football win at Middletown Nguyen was the teams leading scorer with 15 points, 12 coming on four made field goals which tied a school single game record.  Defensively he added a fumble forced and recovered.  Earlier in the week Nguyen was a leading player in West’s soccer wins over Lakota East and Hamilton, assisting on the final goal scored in the Hamilton game.

Hannah Riesenberg
Sophomore, Cross Country
Hannah was the first Firebird girl across the finish line in Saturday’s Greater Miami Championship cross country meet at Voice of America Park.  She earned a spot on this years All GMC 1st team by finishing 6th in the field of 62 posting a personal best time of 19:27.  This marks the seventh event this season in which Riesenberg has contributed to the varsity scoring and the second in which she has been the varsity team lead runner.
10/3/16- 10/9/16

Zelwyn Robinson
Senior, Football
Zelwyn scored 36 points (six touchdowns) to set a new Lakota school district single game record in Friday’s win over Oak Hills at Firebird Field.  He led the team from the quarterback position to a much needed 49-21 victory.  Robinson opened the scoring on the second play from scrimmage with a 75 yard run and went on to score on 13, 5, 38, 37, and 47 yard runs.  His career scoring total has now increased to 264 points (44 TD’s), another Lakota all time record.

Adrianna Brewer
Junior, Soccer
Adrianna Brewer directed the Firebird defense from her goal keeper position for a shutout  win over Lakota East when nothing less than a shutout would do.  West defeated East 1-0 at Cummins Soccer Park on Thursday in the annual rivalry match.  Brewer was credited with five saves and used an array of  powerful punts and goal kicks to keep the Thunderhawks at bay.
9/26/16- 10/2/16

Marcos Aull
Senior, Football
Marcos intercepted two passes at Princeton in Friday night’s football game against the Vikings.  Those two picks raised his career interception total to nine, a new Lakota West school record.  The old record of eight had stood since 2005.  In addition to his record breaking interceptions Aull also tallied 6 tackles to lead the defensive backs in that department.

Rachel Goodman
Junior, Soccer
Rachel scored both the ice breaker goal and the final insurance goal in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Milford Eagles at Cummins Field.  Goodman’s two goal’s in this game raise her scoring total to a team leading 9 points (4goals, 1assist) for the season to-date.
9/19/16- 9/25/16

Justin Beeren
Senior, Boys Golf
Justin carded a two over par 74 tying for the second best round of the day on Thursday at this years Greater Miami Conference tournament held on Glenview golf course. Beerens went into the tournament’s second day  tied for 26th but his final round vaulted him into a tie for ninth earning a spot on this years All GMC first team.

Florine Sanchez
Sophomore, Girls Tennis
Florine won the B flight third singles championship in this weekend’s Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association Tournament.  She was the highest tournament placer on the Lakota West team.  On Tuesday Sanchez was part of the winning 1st singles pair that gave West a 3-2 victory over Lakota East in the annual challenge cup match. Her overall won/lost record for the week was 5-0.  So far this year she has posted wins as part of the 1st doubles pair and at all three singles positions.

Garrett Shelby
Junior, Boys Cross Country
Garrett was the Firebirds lead runner for the third time this season as he finished 14th in a field of 574 at the Cedarville Invitational on Saturday.  A model of consistency, Shelby’s consecutive streak of team leadership now extends to 13 meets starting at the beginning of last season.

Natalia Sompolvorachai
Sophomore, Girls Golf
Natalia fired a spectacular 3 under par 69 on the last day of the Greater Miami Conference Championship tournament at the Walden Pond Golf Course on Friday. She entered the day in 5th place but had caught the leaders by the turn and finished the 36 hole event leading by 2 with a 148 total.  Sompolvorachai Is the youngest Firebird girls tournament winner in the 20 year history of the school.

Linden Eberle
Junior, Boys Soccer
Linden achieved a ‘Hat Trick’ in a win at St. Xavier on Saturday.  His first goal tied the game 1-1 shortly after the intermission.  He then scored rapid fire to tie the game (3-3) and win the game (4-3), with both of these goals coming in the 74th minute.  Eberle tallied 5 goals and an assist for the week.  On Tuesday  he scored a goal in a 2-1 win at Turpin and on Thursday assisted on West’s only goal at Mason.

Emma Cunningham
Junior, Girls Cross Country
Emma won the Troy Invitational championship finishing 1st in a field of 161 runners on Saturday. She also led the Lakota West girls as they brought home the Troy Invitational team championship trophy.  This was Cunningham’s first individual championship win and comes as she enters her third season of varsity competition.

Zelwyn Robinson
Senior, Football
Zelwyn scored three touchdowns and advanced the ball a game high 329 yards in fridays game at Centerville.  This total included 152 yards rushing (18 rushes), 141 yards on kick returns (7 returns), and 36 yards receiving (3 catches) . Robinson also served as the West punter.

Natalia Sompolvorachai
Sophomore, Golf
Natalie carded a school record tying three under par 32 to earn medalist honors in the Firebird’s dual match win over Walnut Hills at the Reeves Golf Course on Wednesday.
This was the fifth consecutive match in which Sompolvarachai posted the low score.

Linden Eberle

Linden was the leading scorer in Lakota West’s win over Worthington Kilbourne at Cummins Field, Saturday.  Eberle assisted on the winning goal and scored the final insurance goal in a 3-0 win.

Maya Krause
Senior, Volleyball
Maya powered the Firebirds to a five set win at McAuley on Tuesday.  Krause was credited with a game high 33 kills, to go with 18 digs.  Her kill total is believed to be her single game personal high and a team single game high for the last four seasons.

Sophia Schivone
Junior, Volleyball
Sophia’s exceptional all around play throughout the game, both on the serve and at the net , powered Lakota West to a three set win over Beavercreek at the Mainstreet Arena on Saturday.  Schivone’s eight point service run in the pivotal first match, which included 4 aces, brought the Firebirds from seven down (14-21) to one ahead leading to victory in the season opening game.

Justin Beerens

Justin posted the Firebird varsity golf team’s  lowest cumulative score for the opening week of the current season.  Beerens average nine hole score was 42.43 stokes over this 63 hole period.

Nicole Sturgeon
Senior, Tennis
Nicole contributed a straight set (6-0, 6-0) win at first singles  to lead the Firebirds to an opening round win in the Ohio State Coaches Association State team tournament.  West defeated Lebanon, 5-0, in a match played on Friday at Lakota West.
