West Chester, OH- This game was preceded by the annual Senior Day Ceremonies. To the delight of the crowd the five seniors started the game and began the scoring with a Rachel Armstrong field goal seconds after the opening tap. The five seniors, Angelia Jackson, Rachel Armstrong, Christine Laritz, Juliauna Howard, and Emma Haynes started turning the game over to the youngsters mid way through the first quarter, already with a double digit lead. Returning at regular intervals as the game progressed the five seniors scored 36 points which included Emma Haynes’ personal best of 11, and Angelia Jackson’s team high 14, also a personal best. Nevaeh Dean tallied 13 points and had a team leading 6 rebounds. Sarah Jones added 11 points to the winning total. The win clinched the Greater Miami Conference co-Championship. The Firebirds have owned the championship or a share of the championship for the last three seasons.

Next Game (OHSAA Tourney):  #1 Lakota West (20-2) vs. #31 Western Hills (4-18) at Sycamore HS, Saturday February 18th, 2:30pm. Fans can park and enter in the East Lot as you arrive on Sycamore campus – Enter where it says “Athletic Entrance’ above the awning.
