The 2016 Lakota West Boys Soccer Team finished the season 3rd place in the GMC with a 12-5-1 record maintaining a 20 year streak of a winning record since Lakota West opened in 1997. That level of excellence has not gone unnoticed by the coaches in the Greater Miami Conference as the 2016 Firebird squad placed six teammates on the All-GMC squad. Seniors Wesley Coleman and Will Nguyen joined Junior Linden Eberle to the 1st team All-GMC squad. Senior Jeffrey Douyere, Junior Chris Wahl and Sophomore Michael Noll were all named 2nd team All-GMC.
In addition to the GMC accolades, Coleman and Eberle were also both selected to the All-Southwest (all-city) team. That selection paved the way for Eberle to be selected 1st team All-State by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association and Coleman Wesley to the 2nd team All-State. It’s the first time since 2003 the Firebirds have placed more than one athlete on the All-State team. Eberle was second in the GMC in scoring this season with 38 points (17 goals, 4 assists) while Coleman still managed four goals and two assists this season as a defender. Link to full all-state team
