Multiple Teams · Lakota West Cheer: Lakota West Alum Megan (Darland) Straub Named New Cheer Coach

megan straubLakota West Athletic Director Scott Kaufman recently announced Megan (Darland) Straub as the Varsity Cheer coach for both football and basketball 2016-17 sideline cheer squads.

Straub is a 2002 graduate of Lakota West HS.  She was a varsity cheerleader and a competitive gymnast for 11 years.  After graduating from Lakota West, she went on to be a cheerleader at University of Cincinnati (’07).  She’s been a Lakota Plains Junior High cheer coach for six years and is a class director for West Chester Academy Gymnastics.  She’s married to Frank Straub, Lakota West Varsity Football assistant coach, and has two children (daughter, Parker-9, son, Mason-5).

“I’m extremely excited to be given this opportunity to coach at West. There are some very talented girls and I cannot wait to see where this program will go,” said Straub.

“Coach Straub comes to us with a significant amount of Cheer and Gymnastics experience, both as a athlete and a coach.  I am very pleased with the expertise and passion that Coach Straub has towards both Cheerleading and Lakota West,” said Lakota West Athletic Director Scott Kaufman.

Clinics: May 9th & 10th, 4:30-6:30 in the Lakota West Auxiliary Gym
