Lakota West athletes have a big weekend in store with many competing in OHSAA state tournaments. So, here’s an overview of what’s happening this weekend:
Gymnastics- The Firebirds will compete in the Cincinnati City Championships this weekend at Cincinnati Country Day School on Saturday starting at 4pm. The meet is a good warm-up meet prior to next week’s district championships.
Swim & Dive Team- The school has 14 swimmers heading to Miami University on Saturday to compete in the OHSAA district championships. The boys start at 10:45am and the Girls start at 5:15pm. Admission is $6.00 per person. The swimmers will shave off time in hopes of qualifying for next week’s state championships in Canton, OH. The divers already competed earlier this week. Kelsey Rebman (348.20) just missed qualifying for state finishing 9th and Taylor Mason (316.20) finished 13th. Results will be found here
Wrestling- The wrestling team will continue their “Month of Champions” quest competing at the Centerville 2 sectional championships at Centerville High School. Wrestling starts Friday night (2/19) at 6pm and picks up again on Saturday starting at 10:30am. Admission is $6 per session and $7 for the finals. An All-session pass is available for $15. Girls Basketball- #1 seeded Lakota West (23-1) will play #20 seeded Loveland (15-9) at Lakota East on Saturday, February 20th starting at 6pm for the sectional championship. Tickets are $7 at the door.
Boys Basketball- #10 seeded Lakota West (14-8) will play their first tournament game against #22 seeded Turpin (7-15) at Hamilton on Saturday, February 20th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $7 at the door.
