Chicago White Sox Prospect Jacob May (Lakota West Class of ’10) was recently selected to USA Baseball’s Premier12 team. The team will compete in the WBSC Premier12 Tournament in Taipei, Taiwan with the finals held in Tokyo, Japan between November 9-21. The team showcases 27 of the best players in the farm systems of Major League Baseball clubs to compete against the Top 12 (Premier12) nations in the world.
May was the first Lakota West student to be drafted in the MLB draft while a high school student. He was chosen in the 39th round by the Cincinnati Reds in 2010, but elected to play three season of college baseball at Coastal Carolina where he was eventually taken in the third round of the MLB draft by the Chicago White Sox in 2013.
