Lakota West Grad Ryan Addington (’13) is enjoying a record-breaking start to his senior season at Carson Newman University. On Tuesday, he was named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week after a record-breaking week at the plate. Last Friday, the 5’10”, 160lb outfielder went 5 for 6 in an 18-3 win over Virginia-Wise including grand slams in the 3rd and 4th innings. He finished the game with 14 total bases, four runs scored and 10 RBI’s. Addington’s two grand slams were featured on the NCAA’s 10 best plays of the week. It’s the ninth most RBI’s in a game in Division II history and the most in SAC history. In a total of four games last week, Addington posted a .778 batting average going 14-18 with 13 RBI’s, 11 runs and two stolen bases.
Going back to last season, Addington is riding a 12 game hit streak and he’s currently hitting .600 for this season with a 1.067 slugging percentage.
