The 2016 Lakota West Girls Volleyball team had a successful season this year finishing 3rd in the GMC and their best record (15-8) since 2012.  With the season over, a few of the Firebirds are collecting postseason awards.

Senior Maya Krause (signed with Xavier University) has been named the GMC Girls Volleyball Athlete of the Year.  Senior Megan Kaufman (signed with UT-Chattanooga) has been awarded first team All-GMC (3rd consecutive year).  Seniors Haley Bergheger (signed with Georgetown College) and Christine Laritz were both named to the All-GMC second team.

Krause was also named the District 16 Player of the Year while Kaufman was named 2nd team all-district.  These awards allowed Krause and Kaufman to be named All-Ohio (Krause 2nd team and Kaufman- Honorable Mention).  Link to full All-Ohio team
