Building on the success of the inaugural 2012 camp, the Lakota West Men’s soccer team is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Jr. Boys Soccer Camp. The camp will run from Tuesday, June 4th through Friday, June 7th. The session for younger boys (2nd – 4th grade) will be held from 8:00 – 10:00 AM, while the session for the older boys (5th – 9th grade) will be held from 9:30 – Noon. The camp will take place on the Lakota West turf football field. Similar to last year, the camp’s objectives are to instruct, challenge, and develop enthusiastic youth soccer players in a competitive and fun environment. The camp will focus on individual skills as well as team concepts in better understanding the game.
Camp Director Rick Cooper just completed his ninth year as head coach for the Lakota West Men’s soccer program. He won both GMC Coach of the Year and Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year in 2011 and Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year again in 2012. Coach Cooper has led teams to 8 district finals and 4 regional finals in his 12 years of head coaching. Coach Cooper will be assisted by Lakota West Men’s varsity and junior varsity players. The camp is also planning on support by additional coaches with National licensures and high school coaching experience.
